Team v Spurs
Tough call to bring Arnautovic back into the side?

Moving Zab into the back three where he went when Collins went off could do it?

Hart
Fonte Reid Zab
Antonio Obiang Kouyate Cresswell
Hernandes Carroll Arnautovic

Yes I know Antonio is back as RWB but its not RB is it?

Or play Ogbonna where Collins did (more of a natural fit) and bring Arnie off the bench.

Hart
Fonte Reid Ogbonna
Zab Obiang Kouyate Cresswell
Antonio Carroll Hernandez

Going to be a nightmare fitting Lanzini in!

Re: Team v Spurs
I'd go with that too Miike, although I think we all know that Slav will pick Carroll which then means it's harder to get our best attacking talent on the field together, whilst retaining a back three.

Re: Team v Spurs
Bilic has lots of options now but I'm sure the back 5 of Zab, Fonte, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell picks itself. To change that line-up means disruption although Ogbonna lacks Ginger's tenacity. We are at home but I see this as more of an away type match as I think we will be under a lot of pressure.

I doubt that Kouyate will be dropped in spite of some indifferent games. Obiang has been too good to be left out so I don't see where or how Noble comes straight back in. However, nothing surprises me these days.

I think Chicharito will be left out and Carroll starting. I think Bilic will go with Arnautovic on the left and Antonio on the right with Carroll down the centre.

For me though I am not a Carroll fan. I think he is a massively over-rated MOTD player. I would prefer to start with Sakho because he is better suited to fast break away football which is why Pulis wanted him last year I reckon.

So I'm basically agreeing with Lee

We need to brace ourselves for a nasty surprise at 11:30 on Saturday.

By which I mean Noble and Ayew in the starting line up.

Re: Team v Spurs
I can see Bilic putting in Noble for Kouyate but I don't see room for Ayew in the starting eleven, especially as Arnie will likely start.

This is what I am expecting...
Hart
Reid Fonte Ogbonna
Zab Kouyate Obiang Cresswell
Antonio Chicha
Carroll

As if he won't play Carroll as a battering ram easy outlet...

Like the team but I would rather Sakho than Carroll. People wont agree but I think he offers more and suits us better. Hernandez could then play furthest forward with Sakho behind next to Antonio. Something Carroll cannot do.

I agree that silly nuts will shoehorn the big lump on in to the team and Hernandez will again be stuck as a spare part

Re: Team v Spurs
If you start with the 5-2-3 formation, personally I wouldn't, that Bilic has favoured then I'd go with:

....................Hart

Zab.....Fonte.....Reid.....Ogbonna.....Cresswell

............Obiang...Kouyate

......Antonio.....................Arnie

....................Carroll

We need to keep it tight at the back, we're going to be under a lot of presure and Carroll gives you the out ball with his ability to win the clearance and hold the ball up for Antonio & Arnie to get alongside

If we fall behind you have the ability to take off a centre back put on Hernadez and then go 4-4-2, Bilic will go safetey first but I'd rather see him go for it with a 4-2-3-1

Re: Team v Spurs
No way is Slav going to drop Hernandez? hasn't got the balls to do that.

Here's a suggestion,

Why not train at the London Stadium all week with Hernandez staying close to Carroll in every session?

Re: Team v Spurs
I want to see Antonio, Lanzini, Sakho, Little Mex, and Arnautovic all playing. That'd give the cunts something to think about.
How Bilic fits them all in is his problem and why he gets paid a shed load.

Stubbo 4:14 Wed Sep 20
Re: Team v Spurs
I suspect he will decide to shoehorn in Captain Fantastic, which will probably mean Kouyate or Obiang being benched or played out of position. Wouldnt surprise me to see him go:

Hart

Fonte
Reid
Zaba

Kouyate
Noble
Obiang
Cresswell

Antonio
Carroll
Chicharito

Personally, I'd go with Trundle's team.

Stubbo 4:19 Wed Sep 20
Re: Team v Spurs
And to Any Old Irons point, I think that means:

Hart

Reid
Kouyate
Zabaleta

Antonio
Obiang
Lanzini
Cresswell

Antonio
Hernandez
Arnautovic

Will never happen though as means leaving out Noble and Carroll. We have to accept that all the while we need to play 3 centre backs AND two non-creative centre midfielders, we wont see all our attacking players together.

Whilst it has improved our defence it's also created a headache that we are best suited to 4 5 1, but dont have a coach that can get us to defend successfully in that formation.

Re: Team v Spurs
It's a game that Bilic won't want to lose to maintain our recent good record...so

Hart
Adrian
Byram
Ogbonna
Fonte
Reid
Cresswell
Zabaleta
Rice
Masuaka
Obiang

System will be 2, 8, 1, 0
